Montie Design is proud to present the Montie Design Lunch and Learn Series of presentation and networking events in 2011. These low-key, high-impact seminars provide networking opportunities and relevant insights to those in the business of developing and bringing to market engineered products.

In a smaller company, you’re a big fish in a small pond.  One implication is that single hiring mistakes and poor management choices have more-destructive consequences than in large corporations, whose “layers” and “silos” tend to isolate human resources problems. 

So what are some practical steps your smaller organization can take to hire, manage, and retain the “best and brightest”?

The June 1 Lunch and Learn will help you tackle small-business HR headaches (government regulations) and opportunities (coaching your best to become better and not jump to a competitor).  Doug Blizzard from CAI, a local resource for HR, compliance, and employee training, will present "We’re Too Small To Have an HR Department: Best HR Practices for Smaller Organizations" at the Montie Design studio in Morrisville, just off Exit 285 (Aviation Parkway) of I-40.

Attendees should expect to leave with satisfied appetites and at least one immediately actionable insight.

The event will begin at noon and will include a catered lunch by Panera Bread (please email us at semonna@montie.com if you have dietary restrictions).  There will be time for discussion and networking before and after the presentation.  We will conclude about 1:15 p.m.

All proceeds from registration fees will be donated to Post 7383 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
